Payments, Disclaimer and ToS

Once we've agreed on details (what you want, what I can do, and when I can do it), you do not owe anything until you've seen the approval sketch. This is a rough sketch for you to approve some of the basic details, but in some of this, you understand that I will have some artistic freedom. If you're going to want a lot of edits, the sketch phase is the phase to do that so please make sure you let me know of all issues before I go forward into coloring. If you do not and I reach coloring and completion, then there will be no refunds and up to 3 edits at no charge.
Once you approve, orders over $75 can be split in half and sent after the sketch phase and after completion, otherwise, full payment is expected once sketch is approved. I will tell you when i'm going forward once I'm sure we're both satisfied, but if you aren't, please respond asap so I can catch it before I get started!

If you don't know what you want, please see my commission info page. It has my policies on refunds, edits and general do's and don'ts. I will make a second blog post after this to show when i'm closed and to list everyone who was approved, unless you'd like it to be private, then your listing will be displayed as "Private".
Thank you so much for all of your continued support! I'm looking forward to making wonderful art for you all in 2019 <3
I don't usually do these, but i'm trying to be more disciplined going forward with what i'm doing and where I want to go with my art. That said, I would like to make a list of goals I want to put forward into 2019. I also want to take some time to explains some decisions I've made for my art, as it feels like i'm branching off just a bit, I want to make sure everyone can still come along for the journey.
First: I want to thank everyone for their support on Tethered. We reached 200 pages and have a lot more story to tell. With how much we have, and me wanting to take my art into a different field than comics, James and I have both decided that we will be switching mediums for Tethered. We have decided to turn it into a book series, and I will be illustrating the covers and inserts through out the book.
I want to say that as much as I love Tethered, I feel like it needs to be told completely and in a better medium than what I can offer. I'm not looking for pats on the back, i'm just recognizing that my heart lies in concept art and illustrations. Tethered is a complex, beautiful story, and I want to see it through. However, if the comic continues, it'll have to be through someone else (that we can hopefully hire on one day to do it...) otherwise, this isn't the end, just a new chapter for where Tethered is going.
Second: This leads me to "Where is this going?" This is my mission statement for my art. Where I want it to go, what my goals are and how I hope to meet them.
I recently swapped styles. I know this isn't new to a lot of you, but to some of you, you've seen this before. Western style, anime style, back to western comic book style and now painting. The thing is, I had no real direction I wanted to go until now. The happiness I felt after painting that first night elf, just hit home. It opened my eyes that I needed an obvious goal. One I could plan on and learn from for future projects. I have a ton of ideas, but most of them are on the backburner until I have more knowledge. For Tethered, all I knew was "want to share with others". Of course I dreamed of it having its own anime, or movie, or action figures. But I had no bridge connecting here to there. I had no stepping stones to go by in order to make my way in that direction.
Honestly, I was a bit lost.
Until that painting and suddenly I had it all figured out. Mostly.
I knew I loved this feeling, knew that I found a piece of me I didn't know I needed until that piece was brought to life.
I want to paint. I want to concept. I want to illustrate.
Laying that all out, these are my goals for 2019:
1. Continue to take commissions on a regular basis, but shifting to the painting style.
2. 2019 will be the 20th anniversary of Legend of Dragoon. To hone my painting skills, I will be recreating scenes from the game. Hoping to do 20 total as it's the 20th anniversary. These paintings will all be from scenes in the game, or highlight certain battle sequences. This means a lot to me in so many ways. Not only is it a project i'm planning on, but it's one I feel that can help illustrate my timeline of progression with painting digitally. By Dec of 2019, I would like to have 20 paintings done and ready for the anniversary.
3. My ultimate goal is to either make Magic: The Gathering card art, playing mat art, or to create my own boardgame/card game for the Starfallen. I will also focus on book covers and illustrations of that nature, however, I will be using the next year to practice so I can create stellar pieces for my portfolio.
I don't know if this would be a common question, but I would like to answer one thing:
"What about all of the other projects? Eclipse? Harpy's as a playable race?"
Eclipsed will, well, it won't be going forward. I think my time would be better spent on single illustrations. This way I can start to focus on a specific area of my art, instead of doing a lot of things.
The harpy project, as fun as it was, required more time than I realized I had. With student loans and other bills, I found myself having to rely on commissions again, and there's just not enough time in the day. I know this one has fallen by the wayside, as has a few others, but this is just another example of why I need to dig my feet in. The above goals can shift. They may change, but I will never stop working with and for the community. Not if I can help it. I've learned so much just by knowing so many beautiful people and I want to continue to serve and bring your characters to life for you.
Thank you all, again, for the wonderful opportunities you've allowed me to explore and finally reaching a steady foundation I feel like I can build on.
