Seekers of the Dancing Moon
16 minutes before 3 Am and Sable is in the library practicing her enchantments for her jewelcrafting. Some of these words were ridiculous and not even her forked tongue could get them to roll off with ease.
Finally, she whispers in frustration, "Munlit.... MOONlit."
Her fingers crackled on the ancient dark blue book, and though the blue flame made her pause, she smiled thinking she was finally figuring out her enchants. She was shelving the next book and completely oblivious to the mists surrounding her feet.
A whisp under her nose catches her attention and looking behind her, Sable gasps. Somehow her protections had failed, and two unknown figures stood silhouetted by blue moonlight.
"To answer your first question, yes, you activated our Mun Rune which allowed us safe passage to your realm from now until your next full moon."
The Mist Witches were all but a myth by 2019, but a select few still remember their legend. Astrologers, Starscribes, and Scrying, the Mist Witches wandered, following the stars and practicing their craft. Though, their stories are only known because there have been a lucky few who have managed to pierce the veil in which the Raven's hide beneath. No one knew the why or how until now....
Sable went to open her mouth, but the other began speaking, picking up where the other bird-mask figure had left off.
"We are Mist Witches. As you've probably heard, we grant "wishes", but in reality, we'll take some of your technology back in trade for some of our magic since your realm has...well..."
Sable couldn't see the mouth of the white masked raven, but the black masked raven had stark white skin and satin black and blue lips that tilted into a look of disgust Sable had used all too often. "In other words, give us your "mundane" electronics...? I think, and we'll help you create some treasures to bring magic into this world? "
Sable held up a finger, walked away, came back with a cart full of old phones, laptops, tablets, and a nokia, and dropped it in their hands.
"All yours. now. when do we begin?"
They both smiled.
